some images transend the accepted normality of photography, this is one of them! Screw compo/sharpness/technical, this has mood/emotion/reflection/atmosphere in bucket loads that's something that very very few images can boast! This simply is stunning and I wish it were mine! mal
Petra: Thanks a lot Mal....sometimes the in-perfect is better...
Petra
I would like to say ditto mal, but i couldn't express it the way he has, but anyway i wish it was mine
Petra: I cant express myself like that either Nige! lol
Thanks for your very kind words. Petra
wow, superb image only a genius could think of.
Petra: lol@genius Thank you very much Tim.
Petra
when emotions beats technique ...that's all about Petra. Love it ;-)
Petra: Does that mean i am a whining crap photographer Alberto??
Thanks for your words! Petra
An impressive and touching photo! The blurring effects, the 'three' thoughtful faces of the one elder man and his gesture could - stimulated by your soft-intimate hints- evoce a whole story about him, he may be filled with some thoughts and feelings, he seems to look into himself: What has happened?... Why?.. Why not?... Or..Perhaps...
Petra
cool
Petra: Thanks!
When this picture showed up, I sat and looked for quit a while, I know that look, I feel the sadness of the man, I can almost read his mind, his past is like a motion picture in his mind.....trying to figuer out 'where did I do wrong', this is what I see in this stunning picture and don't we all feel like this, so once in a while?
Petra: Guess you'r right Astrid...we all feel like that sometimes..That is why it "gets"to us when we see other people like that...
Petra
You gave life to the man's mute pensiveness. Excellent.
Petra: Thank you Louis. I tried....
Petra
Wistful thoughts, magnified by the optical s-s-s-s-stutter!
He has been alone with his memories for a few years now...but those memories sustain him, and will continue to make life worth living until the day he falls off his perch..."aah, Fifi...you filled all my senses...still can I recall the perfume when I buried my face in the nape of your neck at that moment of most intense passion...still can I....."
Petra: Where you standing behind me when i took this photo?
Your word are spot on Ray!! Have you ever considered a cariere as script writer?? Petra
Agree with everyone here. It engages us and makes us think. I like the secondary faces, almost as if they are his thoughts
Petra: To be honest Richard..i did anoter version of the same raw file and tried to create 1 face.....processing was fine but the emotion left the photo completely! And i must say that i like the tripled face more!
Petra
It's good to come at the end of the comments, Petra, to give a simple but profound YES.
Petra: Let me give you a simple THANKs then...lol
hope to catch up soon Ginnie Petra
I have no idea how you did this, but it's an amazing picture
Petra: Took it with a low shutterspeed Ellie....Glad you like it!
Pera
Aren't we all conservatives in our deepest heart?
Some things should not change indeed! (But they do!)
Petra: Its not easy for me to answer that in a few words Wim, lets discuss that some time with a drink!
Petra
Amazing, Petra! Human emotions, the journey through life, all of them connect us one to another. Your picture shows it, as do all the comments. Well done.
Petra: It is a journey through life Kay....going to use this one for a series about "life" ..Thanks for your very nice words!
Petra
ghostly. Great job.
